A father and son session

David and Michael made the trip down from Durham for their session and a coffee greeted their arrival. The skills check revealed footwork, looking and later on, body positioning needed work.
I made a simple set up change to both bikes and then we went to the drops to apply both physical and mental skills. They were surprised how easy the drops now where and soon they had ridden all 3 drops.
Onto the skills trail and it wasn't long before they were riding the whole trail end to end. Rock gardens, steps, absorbing, drops and pumping were all linked to flat, bermed, off camber and switchback corners.
Every run was faster and more controlled than the previous and any errors were self diagnosed as they both knew why.
The 6ft tabletop was next and I went through why the skills made jumping easier and soon they were both sailing over it easily with Dad riding the gap jump a few times too!
We moved to the pump and jump trail and worked on pumping, absorbing and jumping on the trail and carrying speed through each section.
We finished the session with riding steeper terrain and our session ended right at the end when David split his rear tyre.
Awesome session and let me know how the riding develops.
High5!
