SI, Rich and Mark from All the gear no idea
SI, Rich and Mark made their way down from Sheffield and Middlesbourgh for their session and on arrival we had a coffee and chatted of their hopes for the session. The skills check showed me their collective errors in their riding so I knew I had to work on their foot placement, looking, and body positioning. I made some set up changes that really took them by surprise and then we moved to the drop sections to apply the mental and physical skills sets. It took the guys no time at all to land perfectly on all 3 drops and all commented on how easy it now felt.
We moved onto the skills trail and began working on linking the 14 sections on the trail together using the correct braking areas. pumping, rock gardens, steps, fly out jumps and drops were linked to flat, off camber, switchback and bermed corners. Before long they were riding the whole trail end to end faster and smoother than ever before. I worked on line choice too when linking drops into corners and that made a big difference to their overall control.
We moved onto the pump and jump trail where I worked on developing their pumping further and also on the application of their skills to the technique of manuals too. After nearly 5 hours mental tiredness began to creep in and our session came to a natural close and a cold beer each.
Great session guys and I'll see you again soon.
High5!
