3rd March Public Jumps and Drops Session

Everyone arrived on time so we started off the session as always with the skills check, where we gave each rider a set of skills, and applied this to a technique, which set the tone for the rest of the day. We also made the necassary set up changes, and showed them the importance of this, before moving onto the drop technique. Here we talked them through what was needed, and demonstrated before sending them off. We also introduced the mental skills set. Before long, everyone was riding off the largest of the drops, and landing confortably and with plenty of control. We then done a quick cornering exercise, using a grassy slope. It began to rain which helped enforce the correct technique. We then worked on linking drops into corners. Next, we moved onto the tabletop, where we controlled everyones speed to gradually work them over it, and soon everyone was landing perfectly on the other side. Some even used there mental skills to ride the 6ft gap jump next to it. Our session came to an end on the pump and jump trail, where we introduced pumping in order to maintain your own speed, and use it to be able to jump.

Great first public session of 2014!
