Ian and john came down from Peterborough for their session and upon meeting them I could tell tell they were apprehensive and we chatted about their expectations for the session. I began with the skills check and found looking, footwork and body positioning faults so made the required set up changes and to their surprise we moved onto the drop technique 1st. The look on their faces was a picture as they began landing perfectly off all 3 drops!
We moved onto the skills trail and I worked with them on applying their mental and physical skill sets to each section on the trail before linking it all together. Pumping, rock gardens, steps, jumps and drops were all linked to flat, bermed, off camber and switchback turns. In no time at all they were riding the entire trail and linking the 14 sections on it together by the correct braking zones.
They already surpassed their wildest expectations by being able to ride things so easily but I had another technique to show them, Jumping tabletops.
It didn't take them long to get to grips with this and soon they were sailing over the 6ft tabletop and landing perfectly on the transition. The session was real fun but also hard work mentally for them and that was taking it's toll so our session ended as mental tiredness reared its head.
awesome session guys.
High5!
